Institute of Geology of Ore Deposits, Petrography, Mineralogy and Geochemistry (IGEM)
Main directions of fundamental researches of IGEM, that has got its present status in 1955, had been inherited from several former institutions of USSR Academy of Sciences: Petrographic (PETRIN), Mineralogical (MIN) and Geochemical Institutes, which were established in 1930 on the base of former Geological/Mineralogical Museum of Russian Academy of Sciences.
